On Saturday, March 1st , St. Francis of Assisi School will participate in the Archdiocesan-Wide Junior High Academic Decathlon for the very first time. Our team will be competing along 112 other schools: 1,120 students. We have 16 total ‘pioneer’ members: 10 team members and 6 alternates. This is an extra-ordinary accomplishment for both the students, parents and dedicated staff of SFA. They have all been working hard since November and it will pay off on Saturday at the LA Sports Arena. We encourage everyone to come, join us to support and cheer on the SFA decathlon team and coaches (Mr. Nunez, Mrs. Melgar and Ms. De L. ). Please see Ms. De L. for more information.
We are proud of all the effort and time everyone has put into this vital academic event, which is a great representation of another step forward for SFA – regardless of the outcome!
“Don’t be afraid. Just believe.” Mark 5:36
On a side note: SFA’s technological and electrical infrastructure is getting a much needed upgrade thanks to the Hilton Innovation Grant we recently received. Part of this upgrade and grant, will include the addition of a small, upstairs computer lab and a tech assessment of all current technology within the school building. This assessment will allow us to properly upgrade the programs in all usable devices and find ways to effectively use them within our school building. It’s time to celebrate !
